James Brown

I am a Canadian landscape artist and graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design. I have always been drawn to the beauty of nature particularly when it is in a pristine state untouched by the human hand. With my art, I strive to bring raw and natural beauty inside to be enjoyed by all. I paint in oil in all seasons often starting from plein air sketches and ending with larger studio works. I enjoy painting in the varying and challenging landscapes of Ontario and across Canada. Canada's many hiking trails and canoe routes allow me to go to remote locations near waterfalls, granite outcroppings, and interior forest landscapes. The adventure of finding the next painting excites me, and the challenge to capture and translate what I see and feel is ultimately the objective of each of my paintings.
