I make art mostly from salvaged materials. I began doing this out of ecological concern, but now I do it because I prefer the process of it. I prefer the product, though, as well as the process; with cut, tor, woven or fused plastic or paper, I make work that is more evocative than that which I made from paint or ink, pen, pencil, or brush. Heaps of brightly-coloured paper and plastic come into our households unbidden every day; why not use that rich colour? What was garbage becomes plenty.
