The piece aims to be a meditation on connection with and longing for home, the liminal and ambiguous reference material helping people find their own memories within the piece. This piece is based on a photograph of a South African landscape, where I lived as a child, capturing the peace of the landscape through an impressionistic and loose painterly style. Using wool in the foreground to highlight the texture and detail in the foliage, adds to the calming and natural aesthetic of the piece.
