This painting captures the 510 Spadina streetcar on a rainy autumn night. Commuters gather as a streetcar heading north arrives to pick them up. This painting was a study in painting an urban area illuminated by night lights and the illusion of rain and fog. Public transportation plays a pivotal role in my career as an artist and I wanted to paint something I use so often as an artist.
