Sussin' is Jamaican patwah I learned from friends which translates to; girl talk, embodying light-hearted gossip and the sharing of daily life events. The painting is rooted somewhere between memory and dreamscape. It draws inspiration from a diverse set of moments in my life. From scorching afternoons lounging on the lawn of my native childhood home in Nairobi, to the sun-drenched, music-filled Saturdays on Toronto Island, and the vibrant festivities of Canada Day nights.
