Description

A Quill on Scratchboard portrait of an American Robin, referenced from a bird photographed in High Park, Toronto. The portrait is created by hand, using a metal quill to scratch away the black-inked surface to reveal the white porcelain layer underneath. The surface is not for printmaking but is instead the final work. Colour is added last by painting coloured ink over the white.
