The black bear is the icon of the Canadian forest - perhaps our panda of the Canadian wilderness. Beginning with random marks to define the subject and ending with thoughtful placement of the final brushstrokes this painting took many hours of quiet contemplation. A surprise small Canadian flag in the upper right emerged through the layers.
