Wild, green space is shrinking and so we are at a crossroads; do we destroy it all without thinking or do we begin to find balance and new empathy for the animals that live there? I paint to attract you to their soulful energy in a dynamic, undone, contemporary way in attempt to reconnect you to their truth, and their struggle to co-exist with us; With this collection, my intention is to soften your indifference to these valid beings and instead choose to protect them and their habitats. On canvas and wood, I begin with a vibrant colour palette, add definition with a loose drawing of the subject with oil stick or marker, to define the image I add minimal brush strokes, allowing base colours to peer through.
