Our Lady of the Northern Forest

Artist
Francie McGlynn
Description
This is a bird's nest assemblage. The paper Maché mask covers the nest and lifts up to reveal a second face at the bottom of the nest. I lived in Yukon for twelve years and the wooden figure with its wolf fur, (recycled from my old parka), and mukluks is reminiscent of my time in Canada's far north. It is a good luck talisman, mounted on a painted stretched canvas.
