Our Lady of Port Weller

Artist
Francie McGlynn
Description
Once upon a time I met an old woman who was making a wreath. "Are you making a wreath?" I asked. "Yes," she said. "It's what I do. I walk along and make wreaths and then I hang them in the forest. I'm happy when I come back and they are gone. It means someone has taken my work home." I never met her again but I have found four of her wreaths. This is one attached to the rim of a nest within which is a clay Goddess figurine. Port Weller is at the beginning of the Welland Canal in St. Catharines.
