Description

Nocturne of Cypress Ski Mountain on Canada's west coast. Popular for night skiing, Cypress Mountain looks over the City of Vancouver and surrounding area. The winter clouds swirl around the top of the mountain and the lights for the ski runs illuminate them. The 'back lighting glow' of this piece is created by using transparent gesso over birch panel and layers of semi-transparent oil paint and building up the scene. There is texture on the trees in the snow capped forest, creating further depth
