Atlantic to the Pacific and in Between
A National Tapestry
Dear Friend of TOAF,
Canada is Present — in every colour.
75 artists are joining us from outside Ontario this July. Over 50 will make the trip from across Canada to be with us on the Square, and you can meet the rest online.
We are proud to bring you this showcase of national and local voices, familiar and emerging, all woven into one place.
This year, we’re shining the spotlight on Western Canada through a special partnership with Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU), both in person and online. This one’s been on our wish list for a while. Our thanks to the ECU team for their agility to make it happen.
Atlantic Canada returns with the thoughtful curation of Bushra Junaid for the second edition of The Land and the Sea Bind Us, another exciting roster of eight artists from across the region. Read more on this exhibition below.
Colours of Québec are woven throughout the Fair and the Unique Québec zone through our partnership with Bureau du Québec en Ontario, now in its fourth year.
And as always, Ontario shows up strong, with new and familiar faces from every corner of the province.
With your support, we hope to make the journey worthwhile for every artist, national and local, who will be sharing their world with us.
TOAF65 from coast to coast to coast is almost here.
With joy,
anahita & TOAF Team

The Land and
the Sea Bind Us
The Land and the Sea Bind Us (2026) brings together artists from across the Atlantic Canada region, highlighting how diverse cultural backgrounds inform and shape contemporary creative practices.
Working across textile, quillwork, printmaking, photography, and painting, these artists engage with the layered geographies, histories, and living cultures of Atlantic Canada. Their work reflects how land and sea, language, and memory continue to shape identity, belonging, and connection across place.
Rooted in Indigenous homelands including Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland), Labrador (Nunatsiavut, NunatuKavut, and Nitassinan), Wolastoqey territory (New Brunswick), and Mi’kma’ki, these practices offer grounded and forward-looking perspectives on home, community, and possible futures. Together, the artists invite viewers to consider how place informs who we are—and how it might shape what comes next
Featured artists:
• Newfoundland and Labrador: Holly Anderson (Makkovik, Nunatsiavut); Tessa Graham (Ktaqamkuk/St. John’s)
• New Brunswick | Wolastoqey territory: Natasha Sacobie (Bilijk/Kingsclear First Nation); Ranz Bontogon (Sikniktuk/Moncton)
• Nova Scotia | Mi’kma’ki: Lorne A. Julien (Millbrook First Nation); Kaya Panthier (Kjipuktuk/Halifax)
• Prince Edward Island | Epekwitk: Melissa Peter-Paul (Abegweit First Nation); Jordan Beaulieu (Epekwitk/Charlottetown)
