Perhaps it’s a quieter moment of awe noticing the way light fleetingly falls across the pavement, or the fragile tenacity of a newly unfolding leaf in the too cold air. A moment that makes you catch your breath and awakens a part of you that can’t help but feel entirely alive...
My name is Brittany and my work invites you to pause and feel something of the wonder, beauty and heartbreak of being alive. Drawing on quiet moments of everyday awe and my background as a palliative care and ICU nurse, my paintings explore the structural similarities between our body and the natural world around us. It addresses how intimately connected we are not only to each other, but to something much larger than ourselves.
