This image is an imagined portrait of a mother carrying her child. While also balancing food in a basket on her head. This acts as a metaphor for memories I have from living back home, and seeing mothers carry their children like this. The work has a border made from African wax fabrics, which have these vibrant and very reflective patterns on them, they act as missing pattern on the clothing which the figures in the piece are wearing.
