In ‘Heart Break,’ I continue my exploration of the psychological and physiological effects of colour while delving into themes of grief and resilience. A crying woman, rendered in blue oil paint, is framed by the bold red outline of an anatomical heart, her tears cascading in shimmering gold. These elements seek to explore the relationship that emotions have on the body, and the need to release them. The woman’s tears symbolize this release, and are an expression of grief, hope and renewal
