Description

I wonder at the freedom of birds, how they skitter onto water creating spray and confusion, and in a moment they rise in unison prompted by an unseen catalyst. Did a twig snap in the woods behind the mist, warning them of possible predators. Or had the fish they were diving for swum away? We don’t know. Perhaps their landing and flying away in a flurry of water-spray, and the batting of wings is simply an expression of joy at the ability they possess to fly, a thing that we can only imagine.
