I have a strong propensity to paint blue. As a child I imagined scraping the blue from the sky like butter! It is an obsession, and I think it is fully developed here. For me the colour represents peace and infinity, where the water meets the sky and reflects back that glorious colour. A playful interpretation of pond-life, I loved painting this tripych. Why a triptych you may ask, well I was thinking of Japanese art both screens and ancient porcelain.
