Description

Large, decorative, porcelain vessel. A meditation on process, and life: the way I work clay depends on time to disrupt the soft, smooth material, to allow me to develop texture, and coax chaos into form. There is resolution in smooth, carved details, a nod towards the illusion of control. Some small firing cracks have allowed sea-blue ash-glaze to seep out through the walls, the clay ultimately reporting on everything that it has gone through: what it could tolerate, and when it had to yield.
