In Vietnam today, parents still prefer their daughters to keep long hair. "Why?" the daughters may ask, and the parents may struggle to explain their preference. I believe this inclination is deeply ingrained in our culture. Though we may experiment with various hairstyles, we often find ourselves yearning to nurture our hair as we grow older, much like our grandmothers did. The hair is a cherished gift from our parents, welcoming us into life.
