Artist Conks are a point of intersection for myology and art. All conks were foraged from Ontario forests and feature Ontario nature. Once foraged the artist has a few hrs to a day before the fungus no longer oxidizes, a process necessary to obtain the dark contrasting lines; in mycology this process is called staining and is an important Identification tool.
