Happy 65 (TOAF)
Designed by Yaw Tony
Dear Friend of TOAF,
The TOAF 65 birthday festivities wouldn’t be complete without a special memento to mark this milestone, and we have one for you.
We’ve collaborated with the award-winning Yaw Tony on a limited-edition custom silk scarf. Yaw Tony is a Toronto-based Ghanaian-Canadian visual artist, designer, and storyteller who has been part of the TOAF community for the past eight years.
Yaw has designed a gorgeous scarf that reflects the spirit of TOAF and the city we call home. Hints of City Hall, Toronto streetcars, and the city’s unique architecture are woven playfully throughout the design, creating a keepsake to carry with you. There’s even a soccer ball, a nod to the FIFA excitement coming our way.
The double-faced scarf comes in two stunning colours: Cornflower Blue and Japanese Carmine.
Pre-order before June 6 and you’ll be able to pick up your scarf directly from Yaw at the Fair, a chance to meet the artist himself, which is an experience you don’t want to miss.
Orders placed after June 6 will be available for shipping only. Sales close July 31, 2026, so don’t wait too long.

About Yaw Tony

Yaw Tony is a Toronto-based Ghanaian-Canadian visual artist, designer, and storyteller whose practice weaves colour, cultural memory, and allegorical structure into works that invite audiences to see differently. Drawing on diasporic heritage and cross-cultural colour theory, Tony treats colour not as surface but as language, a living system of meaning that carries history, emotion, and identity simultaneously.
A returning exhibitor at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Tony was awarded the Best of Craft & Design Award at TOAF 2023, and has been selected for Don’t Look Back, TOAF’s 65th anniversary exhibition at Koffler301, a recognition of his sustained contribution to the city’s contemporary art landscape. That same year, his scarf brand LLiM (Life Liveth in Me) received the Canadian Arts & Fashion Award (CAFA), honouring his work at the intersection of wearable art, cultural expression, and design excellence.
Tony constructs each body of work as a layered narrative, simultaneously accessible and deeply coded and the conviction that great art reveals its truths gradually, meeting each viewer at the threshold of their own readiness.
