In my art practice, I explore the entanglement between technology and human relationships. I seek to prompt a conscious consideration of the implications inherent in our digital experience. As our lives increasingly revolve around digital platforms and virtual spaces, our perception of others, the world around us, and even the perception of one’s self becomes mediated through screens.
My current series focuses on oil paint portraits created on various discarded and damaged screens (iPhone, iPads and recently flat-screen tvs), with an emphasis on capturing the intricacies and depth of people's eyes. With a focus on the eyes, I invite viewers to engage in a deep and intimate connection with the subjects.
The newest works are part of the Unseen Battles Collection. Titled with a quote from my model. A phrase uttered in a frustrating moment. We often are unaware of the challenges that strangers and sometimes even loved ones face.
