Wen Li
I am a multi-media artist from Ontario. I received BFA from University of Waterloo. Intrigued by the unintentional and spontaneous forms, I incorporates these visual elements into my art through a chance-oriented process. My work reflects on the concept of contingency, and embraces the unpredictability inherent in our thoughts, bodies, and environment. With a background in engineering from China, I merge my cultural heritage with Western art training, resulting in a distinct fusion of influences evident in my art practice.
The body of artworks in the "Tangible Experience” includes an artist book and embossment prints (blind and tinted) on paper. The series have been included in a solo exhibition at Rotunda Gallery in Kitchener (2024), two juried group exhibitions in Homer Watson House & Gallery (2023, 2024), and two Juried exhibitions at Button Factory Arts (awarded in 2023 and 2024). As an ongoing project, it has been accepted to a solo exhibition at Homer Watson House & Gallery and Group Exhibition at Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery in 2025.
