Steph Cloutier is a Tkaronto/Toronto based francophone multidisciplinary artist working in textiles, paper, video, and installation. Her practice explores themes of memory, reciprocity, and repair; utilizing hand embroidery, mending, natural dyes and papermaking to create 2D and 3D artworks. Currently, her body of work looks at her fascination with shapes, patterns and textures. Natural dyes are used for embroidery thread and inks. All hand-stitched on washi (Japanese paper), her drawings become ethereal, imagined yet familiar cityscapes that play with colour, scale, and repetition.

She received her BFA with Distinction in Sculpture and Installation from OCAD University and has exhibited her work locally and nationally. She has been awarded residencies in Toronto, Canada and Naples, Italy. She is currently an artist-in-residence (Textiles) in the Craft and Design program at Harbourfront Centre.
