I am a Toronto artist who has been painting professionally since 2007. I worked primarily in Encaustic (beeswax) for 12 years but sometime after being stuck indoors when COVID hit I lost my ability to work with the slow, meticulous focus encaustic necessitates. In 2021 I began exploring more immediate media to let out some of the restless energy I think many of us had when the world shut down. I have since become captivated with the freedom of expression and flow offered by huge tubs of paint and a wide variety of drawing and mark making materials. My art is my journal. It's a personal meditation using colour, texture and movement to loosen up and play, and/or to let out the stuff that needs to come out and leave it on the canvas.
