Booth 91

This will be Robert’s third time presenting at the TOAF. Robert is a self-taught artist who works primarily in acrylics on board. With his paintings, he seeks to explore themes of individuality, isolation and obsolescence. Currently, he is incorporating more conceptual themes in his work. His love of the outdoors and interest in the vanishing lifestyles of rural Ontario still constitute a large part of his paintings. Derelict buildings, forgotten communities, abandoned barns and antiques all feed his imagination and regularly appear in his pieces. Although the subject matter varies widely, the interplay of light and shadow and attention to detail remain constant in his art. It is no coincidence that Robert’s paintings tend to be full, yet sparse enough to allow and even encourage interpretation and participation. Robert has recently become an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists. He is the First Prize Winner in the category of acrylic paint at the 45th Annual La Cloche Art Show.
