Rana Mireskandari
I am a jewellery designer and maker, and founder of Rana M. Designs. I completed an advanced diploma in Jewellery Arts at George Brown College and continued my journey as a designer in residence at the college and began running my small jewellery business shortly after graduation. Mainly inspired by Persian and Central Asian tribal carpets, my jewellery designs capture the essence of their geometric and primitive forms. I love creating contrast and depth, and experimenting with how light reflects from surfaces in my work. Gemstones hold a special place in my heart, and I take joy in incorporating them into my work, infusing vibrant colors and adding a touch of elegance. Beyond my jewellery pursuits, I'm also a professional flute player, finding expression through music when I'm not at the bench.
