Born in 1972 in Montreal, Pat Tremblay grew mainly as a self-taught artist. After taking a 2 year course in cinema at Cegep Ahuntsic, his university application got rejected back in 1991. Something that didn’t discourage him in pursuing his own artistic projects. Since then, Pat has almost single-handedly produced, directed, edited, and did the visual/practical effects on his 3 feature films (Heads of Control: The Gorul Baheu Brain Expedition (2006), Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass (2011) and Atmo HorroX (2016)). He also recorded experimental music and many other genres, producing, writing and often playing in his multi-musician and eclectic band named “Various Prostitutes”, which includes anyone from musically-illiterates to a few known artists. The group has put out 5 albums and one EP since 1995.

Pat has drawn for the major part of his childhood and adolescence. After discovering Photoshop in the mid 90s, he got to work in graphic design, making among other things, album covers for heavy metal bands. He then more or less left drawing for a bit while he was pursuing his other artistic endeavors. While recently trying to find financing for his next feature films, he decided to keep his creative juices flowing by getting back to his artwork, since strongly needing to do something that was rawer and immediate, like having a real-time relation with his art as opposed to the more passive process of building a film from A to Z through years of spread-out work. That lead to an ongoing series of abstracts portraits that both uses the pen to paper and digital coloring. There are over 300 of those on his website and hundreds still waiting to be colored…

But in order to branch out his creativity and satisfy his hunger for more intricate works, Pat started doing a series of Psychedelic Sculptures in 2018 entitled Foreign Totemic Hierarchies. Pat has sold 23 pieces with his 2 exhibits & commissioned works so far. He’s very enthusiastic at pursuing this artistic avenue and has lots of new ideas to express his love for symmetrical designs.

He is also currently exploring AI art and has dubbed 2024 as the “Year of the Dump”, where he continues to put out many artistic projects he has done in the past but never had the time to share with the public.
