Melanie LeBlanc
Growing up on a rocky island in northern Ontario has given Melanie a deep infinity for the natural world and has influenced her work greatly. Melanie's jewellery explores the interconnectedness of humanity and nature with an underlying aesthetic that challenges traditional notions of beauty. Processes and techniques are an integral part of her art making.
Melanie's extensive education at NSCAD University and Georgian College has equipped her with a strong foundation in fine arts and metal-smithing, allowing her to hone her skills and develop her signature aesthetic. The incorporation of fingerprints, file markings, and experimental patinas showcases her commitment to craftsmanship and individuality.
Since 2003, Melanie has pursued jewellery-smithing exclusively and works out of a studio gallery with metal-smiths alike in Toronto's vibrant west end.
