Martine Dupuis is a visual artist whose formal research is primarily motivated by color and pattern and revolves around place and time. Her textile works, for example, are built loop by loop, through the accumulation of a repeated gesture to slowly create large abstract landscapes that recall topographic maps and aerial photographs of a territory. This slowness, like a meditation in motion, is a way to revisit and reconstruct the memories and impressions that the places she has known and visited have left as traces. In contrast to this long-term work, Martine creates paintings and digital works that provide direct access to an imaginary and blurred world - a world where everything is possible - as a way of bridging the gap between the real and the sublime. In any case, these works are a burst of color and contrast that solicit the viewer's visual imagination.

Martine lives and works in Montreal. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree that she began at Concordia University and completed at the University of Quebec in Montreal. She has exhibited at L'Écart... lieu d'art actuel, the Rouyn-Noranda Exhibition Centre, and the Maison de la culture de Montréal-Nord. Since 2015, she has also worked as a graphic designer and art director, creating projects and illustrations with her unique and colorful graphic signature.
