Marilyn Armand
Marilyn Armand, through her project Le point visible, creates unique and contemporary quilts. As an artist quilter with more than five years of experience, she is one of the few quilters recognized as a Professional Artisan of the Crafts of Quebec (CMAQ). In order to learn this ancestral technique, Marilyn trained for two years with an experienced mentor in traditional quilting.
Today, this textile artist explores the different artistic shapes and techniques offered by the art of quilting. Marilyn wishes to enhance this feminine know-how by transforming its "domestic" status to an artistic approach. She collaborates with Montreal fashion designers to create pieces made entirely of recycled textiles. It outcome exceptional pieces that both amaze and own a story.
