Nathan Phillips Square
Booth 79

Marianne is an emerging and self-taught Korean-Canadian artist.  Radiating warmth and light, her art is intended to spark feelings of magic while inspiring nostalgia. Her varied colours, shades, and marks emerge through her application of thin and transparent layers of acrylics. She is primarily influenced by her deep connections to the places and things in her current home of Ontario, her upbringing in Québec and world travels. She also often uses neon hues to express the intersection between the natural and digital, blurring views of the real and unreal.

Her landscapes express themes of identity, belonging, interconnectedness and our need for community as a means for sustainability. In this time of increasing climate change and recent wildfires, the preservation of nature, our forests and communities have a heightened meaning.

Marianne's artwork has been featured in Create magazine, the Toronto Star and House and Home. She is represented by Art Interiors gallery and online by Ninth Editions. Website: mariannesung.com
