Lisa Graziotto
My practice centers on contemporary figurative painting, with a focus on narrative as a means of interrogating the social conditions and cultural accounts that shape our lives. Positioned within the broader discourse of contemporary art, my work engages with current issues—exploring themes such as autonomy, identity, societal expectation, and resistance.
I see painting not only as a form of expression but as a catalyst—inviting viewers to engage with difficult questions and to reconsider familiar narratives. In this work, as in the series as a whole, my intention is to use the body and its context to challenge, to question, and ultimately to connect.
