Leila Farsi is a Toronto-based calligraphy artist whose work bridges traditional Persian script and contemporary visual expression. With over 20 years of experience, her practice explores the relationship between language, emotion, and form, transforming words into abstract compositions that invite reflection and connection.

Working primarily with ink, acrylic, and gold leaf, Leila creates textured, luminous pieces that merge cultural heritage with modern aesthetics. Her work is influenced by her Iranian roots and her lived experience as an immigrant in Canada, resulting in a unique visual language that speaks to identity, memory, and belonging.

Leila has exhibited her work in Durham Region, Ontario, including a two-month exhibition at Station Gallery in 2026. She currently serves as a Board Director at the gallery, where she contributes to community arts initiatives, cultural programming, and public engagement activities that support emerging and diverse artists. In addition to her studio practice, she actively engages the community through workshops and creative programming, sharing the art of calligraphy with diverse audiences.

Her work has been supported by the Ontario Arts Council, and she has been selected to present at the 2026 Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, the largest outdoor juried art fair in Canada.

Through her practice, Leila aims to create meaningful visual experiences that connect tradition with contemporary life and invite viewers into a space of beauty, contemplation, and cultural dialogue.
