Kate Clegg
One Umbrella Studio is a collaboration between Kate and Ryan who are brother and sister. Both of us have been creating separately for nearly 40 years but now work together making encaustic works incorporating both of our styles. Ryan is a printmaker, illustrator and frame maker from Guelph Ontario and I am a painter and hobby photographer residing in St. Thomas Ontario. We started working with encaustic very recently and have discovered a whole new world. We primarily use my photos and allow each piece to grow and evolve as we work on them. Encaustic is a fascinating medium which our collaboration has allowed us to explore freely.
