Jane Tarini

I am an artist working in Hamilton Ontario. My current series of drawings is focused on portraits of women and girls. These pencil images are a record of how women and girls have presented themselves in photographs through pose, expression and fashion. I worked from interesting and unusual photographs from childhood to old age over the last century. Several of the portraits are from other countries with different cultures and traditions. Ideas about female beauty can transcend age, time and geography.
