Isabelle Langevin
Fascinated by human beings, Isabelle seeks to capture the inner tension that emanates from them: in their solitude, in their relationship with others and with living things, in their way of inhabiting space. Through a truncated point of view, she suggests without saying too much. Playing with perceptions, she creates an atmosphere where dreams blend with reality. Nature, often an accomplice, becomes an organic motif. Isabelle paints with acrylic on paper (mounted on canvas or wood). Her assertive, lively gestures give an impression of immediacy. Through the beauty of everyday things, of which we often see only fragments, Isabelle expresses particles of truth. The artist lives in Montreal, near the river. After studying graphic design, she opted for illustration and, years later, finally painting. She has won several 1st prizes in Quebec. Her work can be found in private collections in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. To contact her: by message or text.
