Hyunjung Lee is a Korean Canadian interdisciplinary textile artist. Lee explores traditional textile crafts to understand their mastery and evolve them into the artistry of her art. Lee's emotions derived from inspiration are sublimated into the flow of the work through the movement of the body.
In 2020, Hyunjung Lee received BA in textiles at Sheridan College and was awarded artist-in-residency at Harbourfront Centre.
Lee had a public exhibition, "Harmony: Hyunjung Lee," at Harbourfront Centre in 2021.
In January 2023, Lee participated Design TO. Her installation 'Irresistible Indigo' was shown at gravitypope. Collaborating with glass sculptor Victoria Guy, the 'Colliding Ideas' installation was shown at Cutler and Gross.
Hyunjung Lee attended textile workshops taught by renowned indigo dyer Aboubakar Fofana and Michel Garcia. Completing residency at Threads of Life studio in Bali studying batik, Lee explored Indonesian regions to take batik workshops taught by local artisans.
