Gurdeep Singh
Gurdeep Singh is a visual artist working mainly in large scale abstract oil & acrylic paintings.His practice is driven by the emotive and psychological power of colour and abstraction.Through an intuitive and immersive process, he explore themes of memory ,perception ,reflection and human experience.He is interested in the space between tangible and intangible , how feelings , thoughts ,and state of being can be communicated through paint.The boundaries he continue to push involve expanding the expressive capacity of abstract and creating works that encourage contemplation, emotional engagement, and multiple interpretations.
Since earning his MFA in painting in 2001, he has maintained a dedicated and evolving artistic practice and was twice artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center in 2005 and 2010. He presented nine Solo exhibitions and exhibited in numerous curated group shows , art fairs and art auctions around the world.His works are part of various public and private collections including Essl Art Museum Vienna ,Austria.
