Eric Tardif was born in 1965 in Rivière du Loup, Quebec. After studying Applied Ecology, he worked for a few years as a guide and interpreter before enrolling in Sculpture program at the Ecole de sculpture de Québec.

The innovative nature of his work has earned him several awards in Japan and the United States. His works, Hommage à Audubon (2013) and The Nest (2014) were selected for the Birds in Art exhibition at the Leigh Y. Woodson Museum in Wisconsin, US. In addition, his works, Cocoon and once again, The Nest were selected as finalists for the prestigious Niche Awards competition in the US in 2014 and 2015 for an award for excellence in craft.
Last few years , he works a new material, aluminium . He conceive of and consider his aluminum sculptures as paintings that break down into several planes. Spectators are invited to create a dialogue with the works in their own way, moving them from the predictability of the known universe to the unexpected.
Playful while being contemplative, the sculptures offer an opportunity to the viewer to observe and react to the angle and colour of each component on its own terms.
