My work is driven by material experimentation and contrast. I create mixed media wall works and sculptures using a combination of traditional techniques and newer materials, allowing each piece to develop through process rather than a fixed outcome. I’m interested in how familiar materials can be pushed into unfamiliar territory, and how new technologies can be folded into a more tactile, hands-on practice.
Visually, the work draws from natural forms such as cell structures, plant life, coral, and architectural patterns. These references are intentionally filtered through a more synthetic aesthetic, creating forms that feel both organic and slightly unnatural. Many of the pieces balance attraction and discomfort - they can appear lush, edible, or decorative at first, while also carrying an eerie or unsettling quality.
This tension between natural and artificial, desire and unease, is central to the work. By combining materials and processes that don’t traditionally belong together, I aim to reflect the ways we consume, alter, and aestheticize the natural world. The work lives in that in-between space, where something can feel familiar and beautiful, yet strangely off at the same time.
