Doug Adams
Doug Adams is a Toronto-based mixed media collage artist, who works with paper, fabric, acrylic paints and inks with stitching. In the series Age of Anxiety, he chose a white textured handmade paper on which marks and washes of black Sumi ink were overlaid with paper, acrylic paints and inks, photographs and monoprints. Pieces of paper were ripped off to reveal the layer beneath or added to build up texture. Underlying the series is the anxiety arising from the political chaos in Washington, DC at the beginning of 2025.
Doug has participated in indoor and outdoor group exhibitions and in several solo exhibitions in university and artist-run galleries. His work is in private collections in Canada, The United States and The Netherlands.
