Dmytro Kushniruk
Dmytro Kushniruk is an accomplished professional welder, originally from Ukraine now based in Toronto. Dmytro has been making unique welded titanium sculptures since 1991 transferring his knowledge of welding this exotic metal from spacecraft heat exchangers at world-renown Paton welding institute in Kiev to elaborate, life-like sculptures of various animals, fish and insects.
Sculptures reflect harmony, the transience of life, and the unity of nature and art. Each masterpiece is special and sometimes takes many years to complete.
Dmytro is a self-taught artist and has developed his own tools and titanium welding techniques over 35 years of experimentation. His passion for exploration of complexity of Creation and close attention to details and quality of welding, results in combination of form and color that cannot be compared to other materials.
In the same time his works are filled with joy and fun inviting us to seek meaning beyond the obvious, to listen not just with ears, but with the heart.
Despite losing his left leg last year, Dmytro is actively pursuing his plan to further develop his artist career making his works known to people of different nations.
