At first glance, my work may resemble the natural textures of wood. However, for the contemplative viewer, figures gradually emerge, revealing a deeper process rooted in pareidolia: the human tendency to perceive meaningful images within ambiguous forms. When I look at wood grain, I see images —fragments of stories, people, and places. I bring these images to life with a repetitive, wave-like brushwork technique. Using acrylic paint for its versatility, I’m able to imply burnt wood or aged grain, watercolour or oil paint – blurring the lines between craft and traditional fine art.

I've spent the past two years developing my artistic voice and recently had the chance to expand my collection through an eight-month residency at Visual Arts Mississauga. I'm grateful that along the way, my work has received recognition in juried exhibitions, including “Best in Show” at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery and “People’s Choice” at the Station Gallery.

I’m so excited to be exhibiting at TOAF for the first time, and I’d love for you to swing by booth 347 if you get the chance! It would mean a lot to hear what you see in my work—whether it sparks a memory, a question, or just a feeling. Feel free to also follow along on Instagram if you’re curious about what I’m up to before, during, and after the fair!
