Dana Roman
Dana earned her Master's degree in architecture and engineering from Prague. She later took many art courses at Ontario College of Art, Alberta College of Art, and Vancouver Island School of Art. She also took a specialized textile trip to Japan, where she visited many art studios of Japanese silk painters.
Dana now works in mixed media, acrylics and textiles. She won awards for her art locally, nationally, and internationally.
Dana lives in the Canadian Rocky Mountains (Canmore) and likes to spend her free time high up in the mountains, where she gets her main inspiration.
Dana believes art should be viewed as visual poetry and therefore affecting our senses and emotions.
Dana’s latest pieces are mixed media abstract collages using her unique technique - mixing several layers of painted silk and acrylics, creating a special depth and texture in her abstract art pieces.
