Damini Mittai
Damini is a fashion designer turned textile artist. Her collections have previously been shown in Hong Kong fashion week and Fashion for Good, Amsterdam. She has recently been featured in CBC arts. Whilst in fashion she was exposed to the rampant amount of textile waste created in the industry. This pushed her towards redefining the life cycle of materials like pre production textile scraps, that would otherwise end up in landfills and to use them as an asset to make unique artworks. She is inspired by the land and the organic flow of lines of the different elements of nature. The artworks are intended to remind the viewer, of the significance and transendence of nature.
