Cheryl Rock
Cheryl Rock is an Artist and Educator who completed her BFA at the University of Windsor. Passionate about the power of diverse stories, she has a focus on reconnecting to oral tradition through her imagery. Her intricate studio practice is an exploration between struggle and beauty, drawing inspiration from the enduring metaphor of the lotus emerging from the murky depths of past environments. She is inspired by her desire to create dialogue with a diverse audience through commonalities in human experiences.
Cheryl Rock was awarded the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair – Best in Show Two-Dimensional Works for two consecutive years (2019, 2020). She was awarded the Mayor’s Purchase Award in 2020. More recently, Cheryl received the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair’s highest honour, and was awarded the Catherine Bratty Award for Best of Art Fair in 2023.
