Carol Mitchell
My creative outlet is glass. With an eye to the past I create open concept stained glass art using reclaimed elements such as barn board, brick, stone, and repurposed windows. Ever inspired by my surroundings in Eastern Ontario, I look to old-fashioned flowers such as sunflowers, daisies and black-eyed susans to fill my frames and bring a hint of days gone by to my work. Rural Ontario is filled with farms, old barns and memories of much simpler times. With my work I try to evoke these same feelings. I have over 10 years of experience participating in art shows across Ontario and 2 years of teaching stained glass classes. I am self-taught, having taken many classes in stained glass, painting and pottery.
