Bill Reddick
My roots are the Chinese Porcelain of the Song and Ming Dynasties. I primarily work on the wheel. My work is high fired in a gas kiln. My work evolves slowly usually due accidents and solutions which are a result of being totally immersed in process for many years. It is process driven and rooted in function. My work is not overtly conceptual. I am interested in seeking beauty in what percolates up and pursuing it. I'm currently interested in re-firing multiple times, adding a veil of glaze over top of underlying surfaces and images. A "technique" that grew out of a disastrous firing and an attempt to salvage.
