Audrey Arsenault
Audrey Arsenault, Aud Metal, is a Mi’gmaq metal artist from New Brunswick. She currently works in copper using the ancient metalsmithing technique of chasing and repoussé, often mounting the copper elements to wood. Her work explores the healing and self-discovery of Indigenous women, focusing on physical recovery and spiritual reclamation after cultural trauma. She portrays strong Indigenous women with native medicinal wildflowers and berries from New Brunswick. Each work is titled in the endangered Mi’gmaq language to support cultural revival.
Arsenault earned diplomas in Jewellery/Metal Arts and Advanced Studio Practice from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) and a BA in Applied Arts from the University of New Brunswick (UNB). Represented by Gallery on Queen since 2021, she has exhibited in the traveling Wabanaki exhibition in Fredericton, NB, and Toronto, ON. Her work is part of public collections at NBCCD, UNB, and New Brunswick’s Provincial Art Collection (CollectionArtNB).
